Are There Snow Days In Heaven?

◽️Any teacher will tell you that we absolutely live for snow days! And it doesn’t matter that we were just off for two weeks at Christmas! The anticipation and the thrill of just thinking about snow days gets our hearts pumping and racing as we envision ourselves going ninety-to-nothing on a sled like Clark Griswold
down a snowy bank, or in our P J’s stretched out on the couch watching tv! Ahhhhhhh.

▫️You wouldn’t believe how fast a text can fly from one teacher to another if the weather app on your phone shows the “S” word!

▫️”Did you see there’s a 60% chance of snow!” – “I wonder how much we’ll get?” – “You know those back country roads freeze quick, how’s a bus supposed to get through!”

Are you catching my snow drift here?

▫️So here we are sitting by our phones, watching tv…waiting for that wonderful decision. Then there it is, ever so small crawling across the bottom of the screen and WE’RE OUT!

▫️That moment you’ve been waiting for, the most wonderful time of the year for all teachers everywhere, a snow day! If we could bottle that happy feeling each time we have a snow day, then dispense it among ourselves during the months of March, April and May, we could make it until summer!

▫️Perhaps teachers all have a little of “Olaf” the snowman’s spirit in us. We love snow and summertime! (By the way, if you’ve not seen the movie Frozen, I highly recommend it! This teacher with a Olaf spirit gives it 5 snowballs!)

▫️I’ve tried to explain from my perspective how teachers love and live for snow days. But it doesn’t even come close or compare to the anticipation of what heaven will be like!

▫️”In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Master sitting on a throne ~ high, exalted! ~ and the train of his robes filled the Temple. Angel-seraphs hovered above him, each with six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two their feet, and with two they flew. And they called back and forth one to the other,
Holy, Holy, Holy is God-of-the-Angel-Armies.
His bright glory fills the whole earth.” Isaiah 6:1-3 MSG

Now that’s something to get excited about!

▫️”And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4 NIV

▫️So, are there snow days in heaven? I haven’t read anywhere in his word that there will be. But even if He chooses to let it snow there…that’s not what I look forward to, or get excited about! One day I’ll see my Jesus face to face and he will take me by the hand and lead me down the beautiful pathway that shines bright, and full of His glory! No more tears, no more pain! Dancing in fields of grace with my Papa God singing Holy, Holy, Holy!

  1. I love your clever little wordplay with the “snowball drift” and the 5 snowball rating for the movie Frozen, (lol) which I adored as well. Very nice post and graceful transitioning into prose about heaven! Bravo.

    • Thank you for stopping by and reading a “newbies” post in this blogging world that I have joined! Your kind words are encouraging to me. ;0)
