Going on day three of what now can officially be called a tried and true, died in the wool “Snow Day”, I sit in the warm confines of my home, being thankful for a roof over my head, and a warm bed to sleep in! Being off from work, and home from school has made me into a couch potato. Yes, sad but true!
In my confession of being a couch potato, I also confess that reading, snacking, and watching TV is the culprit of my demise. But please don’t mistake this for complaining…I am not! I am enjoying this much needed rest.
Since being off, two different times I’ve seen a YouTube video that has gone viral. If you don’t know what “viral” means, it’s explained this way; When something goes viral, it is viewed by a very high number of people in just a short period of time. This analogy is like that of a virus that can make its way into the human body over a short period of time. Thus, a “viral video.”
The YouTube that I’m referring to, is of the adorable little three year old karate kid. I’ve posted it below if you have not seen it yet. It is no doubt one of the cutest things that you will ever see.
Little Three-year-old Sophie Wong from the UK, is the internet’s newest star according to Alison Lynch writing for the Metro.co.uk. Dominique Mosbergen of The Huffington Post quotes, “She might not have been able to pronounce all the words, but that didn’t stop this little taekwondo devotee from reciting an entire student creed with energy and enthusiasm as she pledged her dedication to the martial art. Ricky Lam, owner of the school, told the news outlet that he’s been blown away by the child’s enthusiasm. ‘We’re always trying to get the best out of our young people, but for a 3-year-old I’ve never seen this type of focus and dedication. Her attitude is fantastic,’ Lam said.”
After reading the accolades of this precious little girl, I am reminded of a verse in 2 Chronicles…
“God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 MSG
…people who are totally committed to him. Does the bible verse above not remind you of the dedication of this little girl! Oh that we would be that dedicated to our Papa God and his son Jesus in this same way!
Sophie’s mom told the Yorkshire Evening Post that she was inspired by her older brother who practices a lot at home. As soon as she could start speaking, she says, she started asking her mom if she could take classes.
Now you tell me of a 3-year-old who would want to do something like this? Well, obviously we can see that this one does…but you know what I’m trying to say. She wouldn’t be doing this if she didn’t want to! She has a joy and enthusiasm to the dedication of the martial arts.
“She may not know all the words, but she’s determined to do what it takes to one day become a black belt.” – from The Daily What
We know what it takes to experience joy in God’s presence when He makes it known to us…
“You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.” Acts 2:28 NIV
And how do we know this? By doing this very thing…
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 AMP
When we dedicate ourselves to delight in the Lord, we can then fully enjoy the blessings he has for us!
We could all learn a thing or two from this very cute and very dedicated little girl! (The picture above is of 3-year-old Sophie with her brother Harry, Picture:SWNS) Enjoy the YouTube of this cuteness if you haven’t already!
