Have you ever had one of those awkward moments when you’re talking to someone on the phone and felt you had to be the one to say the last thing in your conversation? Maybe it went back and forth and it started winding down, they said something, then you said something, (and you’re thinking, well one of us will eventually have to say goodbye!)
It can happen when you’re texting also. Maybe you do have to have the last word. This even happens when you can be talking to someone in person. And a lot of times that comes from a “heated” conversation and in having the “last word” you’re trying to make a point. You know what I’m talking about. We’ve all done this.
Peter had a beautiful and refreshing way of putting his words together in encouragement. With the title of “He Gets The Last Word”, listen to what he has to say:
“Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ ~ eternal and glorious plans they are! ~ will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does. This is God’s generous truth; embrace it with both arms!” 1 Peter 5:8-12 MSG
Embrace this truth my friend, that no matter what you’re going through, keep a firm grip on the faith. You’re suffering won’t last forever ~ praise God!
He gets the last word; yes, he does. ~ Amen
