Tweaking A Mess

◽️I’m a mess! I admit, I am totally a mess. Do you ever feel this way sometimes?
▫️My son (the middle one) has been helping me with my blog. He said, “Mom, you need to title one of your blogs…”I’m A Mess”, or “Too Old To Blog.” I keep trying to ‘tweak’ my blog, and each time that I do, I keep making a mess. Then I try to ‘tweak the mess’! Good grief! (Go ahead and laugh, we all have around here. I’ve even laughed myself! I am learning though and as with anything new, it takes time!)
▫️So the more I tweak, the more I’m a mess! I call my son, explain what I’ve done and wait to see if he can fix the situation. (I keep telling him he’ll be old someday too!) He comes to my aid and patiently helps his old mom once again, and all is well…until the next day anyway.
▫️I often find myself in messes, but my Papa God knows this! And he loves me anyway! He knows we can’t live this life on our own. “We are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.” Romans 3:23-24 MSG.
▫️David knew he was a mess at times! “I’m letting you know what I need, calling out for help and lifting my arms toward your inner sanctum.” Psalm 28:2 MSG
▫️In the midst of tweaking my blog, I’ve changed the name to “Can’t Keep Quiet.” This taken from when Peter and John were standing before every kind of religious leader imaginable, confessing their personal knowledge and relationship with Jesus. “We can’t keep quiet about what we’ve seen and heard.” Acts 4:20 MSG
▫️I really feel illiterate in this new world of ‘blogging.’ I’m not eloquent with my words, they are very plain and simple. I love verse 13 of Acts 4: “Their fascination deepened when they (religious leaders) realized these two were laymen with no training in scripture or formal education. (And I love this part) They recognized them as companions of Jesus.”
▫️Through many tweaks and turns, and even if it’s just one verse or one small word from His word, I pray you will be encouraged!
▫️I am so thankful for my Papa God who always patiently helps me when I try to “tweak a mess”!
*And thank you to my son for trying to teach an old dog new tricks!

The Author

Hey there....so glad you dropped by! My name is Elizabeth Maxwell, but everyone knows me as "Beth." I am the wife to Kevin Maxwell of 35 years. We have 3 grown sons, one daughter-in-law, and our adopted daughter Maria. God laid on our hearts to experience the adoption journey in 2000. Our sweet Maria is special needs and from Bulgaria. God has truly been with us every step of the way on our journey with her. I live in the beautiful foothills state of Tennessee. I love my beautiful Tennessee home. From the foothills to the whippoorwills, God's beauty shines forth here. I love to laugh often. I enjoy old movies, reading books, and I love to sing southern gospel songs, especially the ones with a little bit of country. I love my sweet little job, working with Kindergartners...and yes "kids do say the darndest things!" I am encouraged by God's word and I love to dig into it. I am by no means a scholarly expert, but I do delight in His encouragement for me. I am a friend of God...after all, God's got my back! And not just my back - "He goes before me." (Deuteronomy 31:8) "He's right beside me." (Hebrews 13:5) and, "He surrounds me on every side." (Psalm 125:2) These verses remind me that I am not alone while traveling on this "Journey Called Life!" Won't you travel with me? While on this journey, I may share a recipe, a book, or even a movie or song that I love....but most of all I want to share God's word with you. My prayer is that you will be encouraged, and know that you are not alone on this journey called life!
