◽️ In our ever-changing world of technology, it would seem letter writing is a thing of the past. I’ll be the first to admit, I can’t remember the last time I actually sat down to write a letter!
▫️I love the movie, “You’ve Got Mail”, with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. But even that form of communication, (instant messaging on the computer) seems a bit ‘archaic’ today!
▫️And just when you think ‘texting’ is the latest way of talking, sooner or later another form will take its place.
▫️Paul describes a letter to us in 2 Corinthians, but not just any letter… He says….”Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you, Christ himself wrote it – not with ink, but chiseled into stone, carved into human lives – and we publish it”…”Only God can write such a letter.” 2 Corinthians 3:3,5 MSG
▫️ I love that old hymn by Fanny Crosby ~ “Tell Me The Story of Jesus”
Tell me the story of Jesus
Write on my heart every word
Tell me the story most precious
Sweetest that ever was heard
▫️Letter writing maybe old-fashioned, but it’s clearly a personal form of communicating with someone else. It shows you’ve taken the time to sit down and think about who you are writing to. Thought felt expressions, showing you care.
▫️If God has taken the time to write himself upon our hearts, taken the time to communicate to us, writing on our hearts every word of his love for us, are we publishing that to others?
